The Panamanian Nurses Association of the United States, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt:
professional, community service organization founded on November 3rd, 1979 to serve as a
unifying self-help mutual assistance network for Panamanian Nurses in the United States
working together towards professional development, personal growth and community service.

Serves as a clearing house to exchange and disseminate information to its members and
to the Panamanian –American community on the following:

Nursing
Educational
Employment
Medical
Civics
Community development
Cultural
Health Issues

Provides educational, tutorial, financial and professional assistance to the newly arrived
Panamanian nurses and to those training locally.

Conducts workshops, seminars, in-service education, conferences and forums that
would improve and enhance the nursing skills and professional development of its
members.

Conducts Community Health Education Programs and activities, diagnostic health fairs,
refers clients to appropriate facilities for treatment direct services; conducts research;
publish reports and newsletters; operates a speaker’s bureau and presents testimony at
public hearings

Inform the general public regarding access, adequacy and relevance of crucial issues that
would ensure the provision of qualified nursing and health care services for all

Initiates, develops, provides, endorses, promotes, sponsors and support programs and
activities that would improve the skills and professional developments of its members
and would enhance the quality of life of the Panamanian community in the United States
and in the Republic of Panama
